VOODOO SIX: New Song Snippet Available
January 11, 2010VOODOO SIX, the British hard rock band formed by ex-DIRTY DEEDS bassist Tony Newton, has posted a snippet of a new song entitled "Live Again" at this location.
VOODOO SIX has taken the rather unique approach of starting to leak out samples of its new album on the group's Facebook page rather than the band's web site. Newton explained, "We have been fortunate to have toured the world with bands such as IRON MAIDEN, DIO, and EXTREME, and also played some of the largest festivals across the U.K. and Europe, as well as our own headline tours, and that opportunity has brought us a loyal growing fan base around the world. So rather than posting the songs on our official site, we thought we would expose them in a forum where the fans can discuss and tell us what they think — without it being filtered or moderated."
VOODOO SIX recently recruited Luke Purdie, an unknown singer, to front the band, and critics are saying his vocal style has brought a radio friendliness to the group that has eluded it previously.
VOODOO SIX's as-yet-untitled album will be released in February, and will coincide with a U.K. tour, and select dates across Europe. The CD was mixed by Mike Fraser, who has previously worked with AC/DC, AEROSMITH, GUNS N' ROSES and METALLICA, among others.
VOODOO SIX's new song, "Take The Blame", is available for free download at this location.
